Strictly champion Hamza Yassin has admitted his 2022 Glitterball victory has still not sunk in.
The 32-year-old wildlife cameraman and his dance partner Jowita Przystal topped the viewers' poll on Saturday night despite finishing bottom in the judges' scoring for the final that he contested with fellow celebrities Fleur East, Helen Skelton and Molly Rainford.
Hamza had been a firm favourite with fans of the BBC show throughout the series, but the fact that he did not perform to his best in the final prompted some to scream "fix" on social media platforms afterwards, reports The Mirror.

Hamza ignored such comments, though, taking to Instagram to offer his thoughts on the victory.
"I am still trying to comprehend what happened last night," he confessed before hailing Jowita as an "angel disguised as a human being" and a "ray of sunshine".
He went on to add: "Thank you for your trust and guidance throughout this incredible journey. You shone a light for me that got me through some tough weeks and you have been by my side every step of the way.
"You will go on to do great things in your life. It was my pleasure to be your student. I will forever be grateful for how you have changed my life."

Hamza then thanked the entire Strictly team for the opportunity given to him, closely followed by the judges for their comments and tips.
He also expressed his gratitude to all who voted for him, helping him lift the trophy and build strong friendships, before finishing with: "And finally I would like to thank all of my fellow Strictly 2022 classmates. You are ALL winners!
"I am thankful to have had the chance to get to know you wonderful people. This is not the end but the beginning of a lifetime of friendships, dinners and celebrations."
"From the bottom of my heart thank you very much. Pigeon-toed Hamza. Xxx."
TV presenter Helen, meanwhile, appeared to suggest that she felt Fleur should have been crowned the champion when she liked a tweet by ex-Strictly dancer Robin Windsor, which read: "Based on tonight Fleur and Vito should take home that mirror ball."
