Countryfile star Helen Skelton was the 15th and final celebrity revealed to compete in this year’s BBC dancing competition. Although the Strictly Come Dancing pairings are usually kept under wraps until the show airs, people are convinced she’s accidentally revealed who she’ll be dancing with.

Over the weekend, the mum-of-three decided to follow Strictly professional Neil Jones on Instagram who quickly returned the favour.

As it’s the only dancer out of the cast she’s followed, fans are convinced they’ll be competing in the BBC show together this autumn.

For now, this is purely speculation as fans attempt to put two and two together, but the official pairings have not been confirmed.

Although last year the Strictly pro was the first eliminated with Eastenders star Nina Wadia, he came in fifth place when he danced with Alex Scott back in 2019.

Speaking about her ballroom debut, Helen said she was really excited to get stuck into the adventure.

She said: “My family and friends have always loved the show and can’t wait for me to get started.”

Helen revealed to BBC Radio 2 that she had only decided to sign up to Strictly recently but was keen to be in the line-up following her stint in the Christmas show in 2012.

The Countryfile star admitted she thought it was “madness” not to compete and believes taking part will be fun.

Her Strictly reveal comes after her split from ex Richie Myler, which threw the TV presenter back into the spotlight.

The couple, who had been married for eight years, confirmed their split earlier this year, four months after welcoming their baby girl Elsie into the world.

In a post at the time, Helen told her fans: “Very sad to say Richie and I are no longer a couple.

“He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our children.”

However, a source has said that Helen competing in the dance competition will help her through the breakup.

A source previously quoted by express.co.uk said:  “The breakdown of any marriage is tough to cope with and Helen has understandably found it difficult.

Being on Strictly will undoubtedly restore her confidence and give her a massive boost.”

The 39-year-old will be dancing alongside James Bye, Hamza Yassin, Fleur East, Tony Adams, Molly Rainford, Ellie Taylor and Matt Goss.

Other stars taking to the dancefloor include Tyler West, Ellie Simmonds, Jayde Adams, Kaye Adams, Richie Anderson, Kym Marsh and Will Mellor.

Also new to the show this year are professional dancers Vito Coppola, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley and Michelle Tsiakka.

They’ll be taking to the dancefloor after fan favourites Oti Mabuse and Aljaž Škorjanec decided to leave the Strictly family.

Ahead of joining the show, Lauren said: “I’ve grown up watching Strictly, always hoping that one day I could be part of the best show on television, doing what I love the most.

“Now that it’s happening, it doesn’t quite seem real. I can’t wait to start this new sequined adventure and join this incredible family.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One in the autumn.
