Here's your first look at The Walking Dead season 9, and the new episodes of Fear the Walking Dead

Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con in just a few weeks’ time, AMC has released the first look at The Walking Dead season 9 and the second part of Fear the Walking Dead season 4, in the form of two new posters.

There’s an eerie calm to the TWD poster, especially after the boxing match promos for season 8. Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, Norman Reedus, his crossbow, Danai Gurira and Melissa McBride all stand against a muted sky, with a dilapidated Capitol building, a helicopter and a flock of birds in the background.

Interestingly, it’s Lincoln’s Rick with his back to the camera. Does that mean anything? Is he going to be further separated from everyone else? Is he going to die? Is there a longer version of the poster with his bum sticking out? So many questions.

The Fear the Walking Dead poster definitely has a lot more going on, for better or worse:

The amount of weapons, battle-ready poses and ‘No calm after the storm’ tagline tease a very action-heavy return for the spin-off, and we’re excited for it.

Fear the Walking Dead returns August 12 on AMC in the US, while The Walking Dead will be back in October. FOX and Now TV air the shows in the UK.
