Jac Naylor had a close brush with death tonight as she underwent surgery to save her life.
Tonight, Holby City fans were on the edge of their seats as they awaited news about whether actress Rosie Marcel’s character died.
Last week, viewers were horrified as Jac was put into an induced coma after suffering from sepsis .
As her life hung in the balance, Jac was wheeled into the operating theatre and a worried Fletch was fearing the worst.
Thankfully, Jac survived the surgery and fans were treated to a tender moment as she opened her eyes to Fletch at her side.
Tearing up, he held her hand and said: "If I’d lost you…"
Jac replied: "Fletch, don’t."
And viewers were sobbing and flocked to Twitter to express their joy that the fan favourite hadn’t met her maker.
One tweeted: "JAC LIVES. I repeat JAC LIVES!!! #HolbyCity."
While another commented: "As if a pesky bit of sepsis could kill the myth, the legend that is Jac Naylor. #HolbyCity."
A third remarked: " “If I’d have lost you.” OKAY IM CRYING #holbycity"
Another wrote: "Omg my heart is crying at Jac and Fletch #holbycity."
Some fans had probably been fearing the worst after she revealed that she was "in talks" to appear on I’m A Celebrity later this year.
Appearing on Loose Women today, Coleen Nolan asked about the jungle and Rosie said: "I have been, I’ve had a couple of meetings, I have spoken to them.
"It is something I would love to do actually at some point."
*Holby City airs Tuesdays at 8pm on BBC One
