Holly Willoughby cheekily declares she’s wearing ‘extra-tight knickers’ at NTAs

This Morning stunner Holly Willoughby made a cheeky confession about her knickers on the red carpet at this year’s National Television Awards.

The 42-year-old stunned in a lilac dress as she prepared to head to the gliitzy bash for the first time since her former colleague Phillip Schofield’s career imploded.

But speaking to the Daily Star and other press, Holly admitted she is wearing “an extra-tight pair of knickers” to hold her in during tonight’s star-studded ceremony.

Chatting about the pressures of the evening and having all eyes on her, she admitted: “To be honest, it’s the NTAs. I think everybody feels like that. It’s a big red carpet. The greatest actors from TV land, soap actors, lots of broadcasters.

“I’ve got an extra tight pair of knickers. I must have felt some sort of pressure.”

Holly posed for photographs ahead of the show wearing a lilac dress by Suzanne Neville London, with a stunning glam look by make up artist Patsy O'Neill using the bestselling BeautyPie make up range.

While Holly wasn’t nominated for an award herself, her This Morning team was nominated for Best Daytime Show alongside ITV shows The Chase and Loose Women and BBC show The Repair Shop.

She has also been campaigning on behalf of This Morning co-star Alison Hammond, 48, who was nominated in the TV presenter category alongside fellow ITV stars Ant & Dec, Martin Lewis and Bradley Walsh – as well as endearing BBC host Claudia Winkleman.

Speaking of her bond with co-star Alison and their on-screen future, Holly gushed: “Alison and I have been friends for a very long time.”

“We’re just having a great time. I think at the moment, what the future holds, I don’t think any of us know. It’s quite new. But I think we’re taking it one day at a time.”

ITV bosses are reportedly on edge with the prospect of This Morning or Alison winning awards due to the show's increasingly toxic reputation since the previous year's awards.

The turning point began in the autumn when Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield bypassed the queue to view Queen Elizabeth II lying in state, triggering a furious backlash and changing public opinions.

However, a more significant scandal unfolded this year when Phillip admitted to an affair with a younger colleague while still married to his wife. He described the affair as "unwise but not illegal."

Holly broke her silence by expressing her hurt over his deception through a statement on social media.

Phillip's admission of the affair also brought to light reports of a toxic bullying culture behind the scenes of the daytime show.
