Holly Willoughby defended by fans after cruel trolls claim she 'stole Meghan Markle's limelight' during Royal Wedding

The 37-year-old This Morning star put on her wedding dress to mark the big day during a family party.

Holly told The Sun Online about her plan to put on her gown last week and admitted she was excited to be able to wear it again.

Throughout yesterday she shared fun pictures of herself from the party, which also marked her mum and sister’s birthdays, and looked as though she was having the time of her life.

However some of her Instagram followers claimed she was making the day about her and taking the shine off Suits star Meghan.

One miserable person told her: “I know it was your sis and mums birthday however Why?? It just makes you look like your trying to upstage Meghan Big mistake Huge.”

Another commented: “Sorry Holly but it’s not about you.”

While a third chided: “Why are you attempting to overshadow the Royal wedding? There must be a reason for not being picked to present. Accept it.”

Her fans were quick to shut down their cruel comments however, with one woman telling the mum-of-three: “Stunning Holly! Brilliantly fun dress code – ignore the haters!”

A second lashed out and said: “Why do you nasty people put horrible b****y negative comments on here when Holly's just sharing a lovely photo from a family party…

It's not like she's walking down Oxford St with it on. If you don't like it unfollow her #peaceandlove.”

Holly ignored the nasty comments and continued to enjoy the party, along with her celebrity pal Emma Bunton who also donned her wedding dress to join in the celebrations.

The pair weren’t alone in putting on their white gowns, with a number of reality stars dressing up for the wedding.

Vicky Pattison marked the Royal Wedding by announcing she’d finally set a date to marry her fiancé John Noble.

She shared a picture of one of her dream wedding dresses and admitted Prince Harry and Meghan’s nuptials had got her in the mood to continue planning her own big day.
