Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy rushed to hospital after horror car crash

Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy was rushed to hospital after being involved in a horror car crash that left his vehicle a mangled wreck.

The Celebs Go Dating star, who is dating Love Island’s Laura Anderson, got into an accident on Boxing Day morning and shared footage of the shocking aftermath on social media.

In a series of photos, Gary’s car is seen under a bridge with the bonnet smashed in and the front completely destroyed.

The 41-year-old actor captioned the images: ‘Someone was watching over me today. 100,’ adding: ‘Gary 9 lives.’

Gary’s girlfriend Laura, 32, filmed him in hospital as he was being discharged and was seen hobbling on crutches.

‘We’ve had a lovely time. How are you feeling on your morphine?’ Laura asked the actor who replied groggily and with a croaky voice: ‘Pretty f*****g good to be fair.’

Laura then panned to his knee which was strapped in a brace and laughed before composing herself, saying: ‘It’s not funny, sorry. Love you.’

She also uploaded a series of photos depicting the timeline of Gary’s day, starting with a sweet photo of the two of them cuddled up on Christmas Day alongside photos of the car wreck, Gary lying in a hospital bed, his swollen knee, walking on crutches and then passed out on the sofa at home.

‘The exciting life of the Luce. Always keeping me on my toes,’ she wrote.

It comes after Gary and Laura confirmed their romance after finding an attraction to each other on E4 series Celebs Go Dating.

Going public on social media, Gary said: ‘The cat that’s got the cream. Keep smiling…life is pretty damn good. Thanks to you…(wink wink nudge nudge).’

The couple are joined on the series by Sinitta, Apprentice star Navid Sole, Geordie Shore’s Bethan Kershaw and TOWIE’s Pete Wicks, while comedian Rob Beckett returns as narrator.

Their romance comes after Laura split from singer Dane Bowers earlier this year.
