Hollyoaks bosses are reportedly keen to tempt Danny Dyer to join their show in the wake of his EastEnders departure, and are said to be putting together a ‘juicy’ part in order to do so.

Danny, who previously starred in Hollyoaks Later as devilish villain The White Man, is set to leave EastEnders after nine years as Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, with his final scenes set to air later this year.

The team at Hollyoaks, however, are seemingly set on securing the star for another stint in their serial, with writers at the Channel 4 soap hopeful that they can tempt him with a role he can really get his teeth into.

‘The scriptwriters think he would make a brilliant addition to the cast,’ a source told The Sun.

‘They are putting their heads together to write a juicy part to entice him.

‘They would love to create a special role just for him which draws on all his charms – as well as letting him keep his own accent.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Hollyoaks for comment.

Danny appeared in four episodes of Hollyoaks’ late-night spin-off Hollyoaks Later back in 2013, playing The White Man.

The White Man was the owner of a strip club, who crossed paths with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and subsequently played a game of poker with him.

The storyline in question saw the gangster kidnap Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) – Tony’s son – but Tony ultimately succeeded in rescuing him.

Interestingly, The White Man was Danny’s last role before joining EastEnders in 2013 as Mick, who he has played ever since.

It was revealed in January that the star set to leave the BBC One soap after nine years.

The exact nature – and timing – of his departure have so far been kept under wraps. Danny has reassured fans that whatever happens, he’s pushing for an exit that ‘gets people talking about it’.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4, or stream first look episodes daily on All4. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
