But away from the cameras the gorgeous actress enjoys a much more glamorous life.
From fun night’s out with her co-star roommate, sexy swimsuit pics and her mental health passion project, the Daily Star takes you inside the life of the star behind Felicity Newman.
Mental Health Battle
After witnessing the mental health battle of a friend who was struggling with suicidal thoughts, actress Jacqui made a surprising career move when she turned her hand to writing and starring in her own short film.
The Summer Bay favourite made her writing debut on the thought-provoking short film titled Voicemails Last Forever. “My short film is predominantly about depression. So mental health, grief, and specifically, suicide.
"And it's so important to me because I really just want to bring awareness to mental health and suicide, and kind of break down that stigma that is attached to it. That it's shameful, and we shouldn't talk about it, and it's taboo,” Jacqui said in the teaser to the film."
She went on to say that she was inspired by her friend’s life and those who suffered during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
“I wrote it for my friend. So it's kind of about him and his life. And when I heard his story, that really affected me, because I was like… luckily, I don't suffer from those things, like suicidal thoughts.
“Going through Covid, I think a lot of people really suffered from that. And anxiety came up, mental health issues came up because we were confined, and we maybe didn't have friends or family around us.”
Co-star Roommate
The residents of Summer Bay may have some turbulent relationships at times, but it sounds like behind-the-scenes things are far more harmonious for the stars of the show.
Despite having only joined the cast of the soap as Felicity Newman last year, the star has already made such firm friends with her co-stars that she has moved in with one of them.
Speaking to TV Week alongside her on-screen brother Nicholas Cartwright, who plays police officer Cash Newman, Jacqui revealed that she is now housemates with fellow Bay newcomer Matt Evans, who plays Theo Poulos.
"Matt Evans and I are having a blast being roommates," she said. "He is one of my favourite people in the whole world."
The roomies have already shared some sweet posts on Instagram commemorating their friendship, with Jacqui throwing Matt a birthday celebration over the summer complete with cards, presents and balloons.
Bikini Pics
She's certainly made an impression on Home and Away with her stunning good looks, but actress Jacqui Purvis knows how to play it up for the cameras in real life posing in a series of skimpy bikinis.
Jacqui, who also played Melissa Lohan on Neighbours in 2019, looks sensational in a skimpy yellow bikini that accentuated her washboard stomach and lean legs.
The stunner is also seen posing on the front cover of Australian Magazine New Idea in a hot pink bikini alongside her co-star Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth on the soap.
Fans rushed to the comments to compliment the star. One gushed: “What a gorgeous girl you are. That face, so full of fun, just exquisite!”
Another added: “deffo puts the heat in home and away. GORGEOUS!”
