A TOP telly presenter has traded in her high-profile screen role to become a teacher.
Nicci Roscoe, now 63, was a familiar face to fitness fans with her wellbeing segments across Sky, the BBC and GMTV.
With a former job at David Lloyd, she was a popular and knowledgable talking head on lifestyle issues.
Yet just as her screen career was taking off, Nicci was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumour.
Nicci's "golf ball sized" tumour was discovered in 2001 – after she had been struggling with her speech on her radio show – and forced a huge career change.
She told Mirror Online: "I was sitting in the neurosurgeon's office and he told me I had a golf ball sized benign tumour that was deeply embedded in my brain.

“It was near the parts of my brain that controlled speech, balance, co-ordination, and memory. My partner at the time started to cry, and I found the strength deep within me to ask, 'Am I going to die?'
"My neurosurgeon said if I didn't have the tumour removed it would continue to grow and I would be like a vegetable within two years and dead within five."
Nicci is still left with three titanium bolts and six screws in her head following the operation.
She switched up her career to be a meditation teacher, as well as owning her own company Mind Medication.
