LOVE Island star Danica Taylor had a helping hand from an agency to arrange her bombshell entry into the villa.

The dancer opened up on her Love Island journey and told how – despite the show having an official application process – she was offered support with her submission.

The popular show star, who finally found her perfect man in the arms of footballer Jamie Allen, took to her Instagram fans to update fans on post-villa life.

Alongside a sassy portrait image, Danica wrote: "So busy at the moment running around attending amazing events, photoshoots and appearances."

Addressing how she entered the show, she added: "Thank you to the team at Neon Management, they contacted me in January and arranged my application & interview with @loveisland and made the dream come true.

"I’m so excited for this new chapter in my life."

In 2021, producers started to interview potential applicants in January for this year's instalment.

During the Love Island 2021 final, host Laura Whitmore announced that you can apply to be on season eight.

Every year hundreds of thousands of fans apply to be on the show and only a lucky few are selected.

Back in June, Love Island fans were left saying the same thing as it was revealed how the contestants were picked.

Fans couldn't wait to see who coupled up with who, but some have been left disappointed to learn how the first contestants to enter the villa this year were recruited.

MailOnline claims 100,000 applied through the channel's official process, but only three of those were chosen.

The rest were approached by ITV staff, including the show's first deaf contestant Tasha Ghouri.

Salesman Ikenna Ekwonna, 23, fishmonger Luca Bish, 23, and 22-year-old student Liam Llewellyn were also approached according to the publication.

While Amber Beckford, 24, a nanny from London, was approached, she decided to go through the application process.

It means paramedic Paige Thorne, 24, estate agent Andrew Le Page, 27, and microbiologist Dami Hope, 26, were the three to come through the official recruitment drive.

A source told MailOnline: "There were almost 100,000 applications this year, which is about the same as most years, but the final cast doesn’t reflect that."

Some fans were not impressed by the report, with one writing online: "So there's nothing real about the reality tv show. What a shock."

Another added: "Programme filled with so called influencers, daughters of footballers, its time for change."

A third wrote: "No different to BGT or the X Factor, they are all fixed so the "right" people will make the final."

At the time, a Love Island spokesman said: "All Islanders would go through the same process before entering the villa, whether they apply or are approached."
