IF ITV bosses succeed in their search for a new younger female Chaser to join quiz show The Chase, they may regret getting on the wrong side of quizzing queen Anne Hegerty.
The Governess, as she is known on the show, has reacted after her fellow pro quizzer Mark Labbett told the Oxford Union student debating society that TV chiefs had been seeking new experts for the show.
Anne ranted: “They have tried out a few 20-year-olds for The Chase as quizzers.
“I would be more than p***ed off if I was replaced, as she would not be as good as me.
“Nobody is about to replace me.”
Mark recently described The Chase’s hunt for a young female quizzer who can “play like Anne or Jenny (Ryan) and looks like she can be on Love Island” as “Project Unicorn”.
