Since I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! began in 2002, many of the stars have had dramatic weight losses during their time in the camp, including Nick Knowles and Crissy Rock.

It is well known that the stars live on diets of just 500 calories a day, with newsreader Michael Beurk losing over 17lbs during his I'm a Celeb stint in 2014, despite being the first to be sent home.

Michael's wife Christine shared her shock over the small food portions that contestants receive on the show during an interview, telling Mail Online: "I was quite horrified to realise that they only get 500 calories a day in the jungle.

"It’s not that he dislikes rice and beans, but the rations are quite low."

As one of the stars to have undergone a huge weight loss during their time on the show, Daily Star looks at some of the biggest I'm A Celeb! weight loss transformations throughout the years.

    Hollie Arnold

Paralympian Hollie Arnold competed in I'm A Celeb 2020, and was the first to be voted out in the series.

Despite only being in the camp for a short period of time, Holly lost one stone while she was there, due to the small portions of food that celebrities are given.

She told Entertainment Daily: "I’ve currently lost nearly a stone so I’m actually really happy.

However, she added that her weight loss had been a cause for concern too, adding: "I also kind of feel bad as I feel like I’ve lost a bit of muscle mass, too."

She explained that producers tell stars leaving the camp to gently ease themselves back into normal portions, saying that they are told to eat slowly and gradually throughout the day.

Despite this, Holly did reveal that was a certain meal she couldn't wait to have once she had gotten used to eating normal portions again: "I can’t wait to have fish and chips from Grimsby, and curry sauce and scraps and maybe a battered sausage on the side."

    Nick Knowles

Nick Knowles is used to manual work thanks to his roles in programmes such as DIY SOS, and his experience came in handy as he tried to keep the camp going during his stint in I'm A Celeb 2018.

The amount of work he completed also had a dramatic effect on his weight, with Nick revealing that he lost a huge 2.2 stone during his 19 days in the jungle.

His transformation is also the biggest I'm A Celeb weight loss to date, closely matched by Colin Baker who lost two stone in 17 days during I'm a Celeb 2012.

Speaking to Somerset Live, Nick explained the toll that work in the camp takes on contestants bodies, saying: "It was physically very difficult.

"I lost 14 and a half kilos in 20 days – I wasn't sitting around doing nothing all day," and his perseverance paid off, coming sixth overall in the series.

    James Haskell

Another star to lose a huge two stone is Rugby player James Haskell, who competed in I'm A Celeb 2019.

The star's daily calorie intake was significantly cut from the huge 4,000 calories he reportedly consumes to maintain his build for playing Rugby, causing the dramatic weight loss in just 17 days.

After he was voted out, the star posted a photo of himself eating a pizza and drinking beer on Instagram, with the caption: "I loved every second of my I'm A Celeb experience.

"The most important thing to me is the opinion and respect of my fellow camp mates, with whom I have lived for the last 17 days.

He added: "Here's to another pizza slice and beer and on to the next adventure."

    Crissy Rock

Crissy Rock was a born entertainer and she certainly delighted both viewers and her fellow campmates during her 19 day I'm A Celeb stint in 2011.

During her time in the jungle, the star also lost so much weight that she was able to fit into size six clothes, telling her fellow camp mates: "The only time I've ever been in a six is in a shoe!"

After being voted out of the jungle, she shouted "freedom" as she crossed the bridge, but told presenters Ant and Dec: "I've had a lovely time. The pinnacle was Peter Andre."

    Rebekah Vardy

WAG Rebekah Vardy was another star to lose over one stone in the jungle during her I'm A Celeb 2017 appearance, saying to The Sun that "the hunger takes over," while stars are in the camp.

She said: "I missed cuddles with Jamie but I didn’t think about sex once. No one had thought about it in camp. It’s weird but the hunger takes over."

The star also revealed that one of the first meals she had after leaving the jungle was a Margarita pizza, after having to follow a limited diet of rice and beans while taking part in I'm A Celeb.

    Colin Baker

Doctor Who legend Colin Baker was one of the first I'm A Celeb stars to have a huge two stone weight loss, after his stint in the jungle during the series in 2012.

After being voted out, he told hosts Ant and Dec that the lack of food started to affect his body functioning properly, saying: "My body started to shut down bizarrely, but it was the fact that I couldn’t walk past jobs that weren’t done, so if the water needed topping up, I’d go and fill it up.

"I was up and down the stairs the whole time and I was burning a lot of calories and a lot of adrenaline, and, obviously, all the walking to go to the trials."

    Russell Watson

Classical singer Russell Watson was voted out with Jessica Plummer during a double elimination on I'm A Celeb 2020, but not before losing a huge 20lbs during his time on the show.

He explained that although he wore leggings for the first few days in the camp, he started to notice the weight loss when he wore trousers.

Russell told The Mirror: "Once I put my red pants on they were falling down my backside. I lost nearly 20lbs in two weeks in there, the weight literally fell off me.

"I was quite pleased with that, I was a big unit when I went in there, so I put my trousers on today and they fell down, I had to put two belts on to keep them up."

    Chris Moyles

Chris Moyles lost a whopping one and a half stone while in the jungle this year.

The Radio X star originally dropped from 18 stone to just 12 after turning his life around and dedicating himself to a workout regime.

Now he is at the "lowest weight since school" after living on rice and beans in the jungle.

He said: "It’s the lowest weight I’ve been since schooI.

"I got weighed right at the beginning of isolation and then literally the first thing you do when you get out is see the medical officer and they check if you’re alright.

    "So yeah I did and I lost weight. I’ve lost a stone-and-a-half.

"The medical officer told me, 'Your body is adapting, I know you want to go boozing but I wouldn’t recommend it because you’ll have the worst hangover of your life'."
