COUNTRYFILE's Joe Crowley has become a fan favourite on the BBC show, but have you ever wondered what his life is like away from the camera? – from heartbreak on the day of his son's birth to a low-key marriage.

The nature and outdoors expert rarely shares any details about his private life.

We know very little about his romantic relationships either.

Although Joe keeps his marriage pretty much under wraps, we do know he is happily married.

Joe is married to registered nurse Kasey Crowley. Their three children are Cullen, Kenzie, and Liam.

The Countryfile star previously mentioned details about a family holiday on X/Twitter.

Joe told his followers: "Abrupt end to family hols… driving through the early hours to make the latest train we could but kids slept through it all (woop). And we're in Calais! Please send coffee & a sense of humour. #beatquarantine."

Additionally, the 41-year-old has spoken openly about how a devastating loss he suffered as a teenager affected a pivotal moment in his life.

When he was just 15 years old, Joe lost his father to blood cancer.

As a result of this tragedy, he is now an ambassador for the Anthony Nolan Foundation, an organisation that helps unite stem cell donors with blood cancer patients who need stem cell transplants.

Joe discussed his loss on the BBC's Anthony Nolan Storytellers in 2020.

He said: "When you lose someone you love from blood cancer, it is just devastating, and it will never be the same again, but we have learned to cope, and maybe we are stronger for it."

People who have lost a family member know that even the most joyous of occasions can be clouded with sadness, especially when welcoming new family members.

Joe had an especially hard time on the day his son Alfie was born because he couldn't stop thinking about his father, who was sadly gone.

He admitted: "Becoming a parent for the first time is the happiest day of your life, but with all of the happy days, they are also the saddest. You are missing that person in this case, my father, Alfie's grandfather who would have loved Alfie."
