Inside Strictly pro Amy Dowden’s and fiancé Ben’s ‘sten’ do with cupcakes, veil and rarely-seen family

STRICTLY Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden celebrated her forthcoming nuptials with her fiancé Ben Jones.

The Welsh dancer, 31, looked stunning in a white dress and veil as the pair enjoyed their fun 'sten' do.

Combining the two traditional stag and hen parties, the couple were treated to an outdoor celebration in the sunshine.

Sharing pictures on her Instagram account, Amy was joined by her family and friends posing in front of a flower wall full of white roses.

With the guests divided in teams for a series of games, Amy showed she was 'Team Bride' with a cupcake with the phrase written across it in pink icing.

One cute snap showed her husband-to-be gently kissing her on the cheek as she beamed away.

Amy wrote: "After a busy but exciting few days filming for dare to dance only now getting round to posting from a fantastic afternoon Sunday.

"Thank you to our parents at @artinmotion.dance for mine and Ben’s sten party!

"Such a fun afternoon full of crazy and fabulous surprises! Loved the games!"

She added: "Sorry boys but team bride definitely won 😉🥰😘💖 #sten #dancefamily #grateful #teambride #aim #artinmotion #bridetobe".

Amy and Ben are set to walk down the aisle in July after their original date in 2020 was postponed due to Covid.

In March she shared a picture of herself trying on a wedding dress.

The intricate gown featured embroidered white lace flowers stitched on sheer fabric to give a hint of skin.

Amy wrote in the caption:"Who else is getting married this year? Although I was supposed to get married 2020 and everything was organised and rrready.

"Now it’s creeping up on me and I feel totally unorganised and panicking 🤣. Not turned into bridezilla yet though 🤣😉."

She added, however, that the frock in the picture was not the actual one she will be donning for her big day.

Amy – who has danced with the likes of Tom Fletcher and Karim Zeroual on Strictly – and fellow dancer Ben kept their romance secret for six years after meeting in 2011.
