Is Selling Sunset’s Jason Oppenheim dating DWTS Shana Burgess? As the buzz about a romance between the two reality stars grows, Jason spilled the scoop about his love life to Us Weekly. The reality star realtor told Us Weekly he’s still single, despite the romance rumors. Jason confessed his true feelings of friendship for the DWTS star: “She’s just super cool. We just went to lunch a couple of times.”
The Selling Sunset exec also told Us Weekly he’s not really into dating right now. “Obviously COVID just doesn’t make it that easy anyway,” the realtor explained. “But you know, I’ve got my little kiddos, and I’ve got my Netflix account, and I got a one-room house, and I just feel like it’s hard to beat that.” While that does sound lovely, color us skeptical.
First of all, the realtor’s claim about a “one-room house” seems slightly off since Jason dropped over $5 million on a new home in Hollywood Hills in October 2020. People reported that the Oppenheim Group’s founder and president purchased a 4,874-square-foot estate built by Avengers star Jeremy Renner in 2008. That’s not the only thing throwing Oppenheim’s claims into doubt, though. Read on to learn more about the rumored romance between Jason and Shana.
Is Jason Oppenheim's denial real?
Selling Sunset’s Jason Oppenheim shut down rumors of his romance with DWTS star Shana Burgess. But doth Jason protest a little too much? An August 2020 interview with Hello is among the reasons we have doubts about his denial. The superstar realtor confessed, “Had I known the show would be this focused on our personal lives I probably wouldn’t have signed up for it.” Jason continued, “I wanted it to be all about the nuances of real estate, but I now realize the show I envisioned wouldn’t be that popular! I’ve come to accept the idea that I’m on more of a reality show than a real-estate show.”
It sounds like Jason is feeling the double-edged sword of reality TV fame! Understandably, he might want to keep his love life out of the spotlight. The Selling Sunset star might also be wary of a public romance because of his previous relationship with Oppenheim Group’s Mary Fitzgerald. It wasn’t serious enough for kids, but they still share fur babies Niko and Zelda, so we can assume it was significant. The two realtors parted ways, and Mary tied the knot with Romain at the end of Selling Sunset’s second season according to Hello.
If Jason’s denial is real, so be it. You can’t blame us for shipping Jason and Shana — it would be a reality TV romance made in heaven!
