Williams is an actress and comedian probably best known as the star of Netflix movie The Incredible Jessica James, a comedy where she starred opposite Chris O’Dowd.
Williams will be first seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, though JK Rowling explained her major role won’t come into play until Fantastic Beasts 3. Responding to a fan on Twitter, she wrote:
“You only see a HINT of Lally in Fantastic Beasts 2. Her true glory is revealed in FB3.”
We don’t know much yet about Lally – though The Leaky Cauldron did establish that her Ilvermorny house was Thunderbird.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will bring back plenty of faces from the first movie – as well as introducing a host of new characters, including Jude Law as the young Albus Dumbledore.
Callum Turner is playing Newt’s older, more successful brother, auror Theseus Scamander, and Brontis Jodorowsky will take on the part of Nicolas Flamel, a name fans will recall from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens November 16.
