Kansas mansion for sale has a waterfall, scuba tunnels and a two-storey library

A house that’s gone on the market in Kansas offers something to do for every day of the week…

…and when we say house we mean mansion – complete with its own waterfall.

The 17,000 square feet property – which has been dubbed ‘the most expensive home in the state’ – is on the market for $10.9 million (£8.24 million).

Listing agency Crown Realty says that the home has seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and an additional seven half-bathrooms.

It seems the house would be perfect for lockdown as it’s bursting with different things to do. There are scuba diving tunnels to try out, the wine cellar to visit, the two-storey library to get lost in, the mini home theatre (which comes with a projection screen) and the commercial-grade kitchen to whip up some quarantine bakes.

As well as private outdoor scuba diving tunnels (which feature fossils and a grotto with a seating and bar area), there’s also an indoor swimming area.

The eccentric house, which is named The Spirit of Avalon, accommodates people working from home with an office which spans two stories.

It also has a detached four-car heated garage, a carriage house, a gym, tennis court and grounds with walking routes and golf-cart paths.

So it seems no expense has been spared.

According to Forbes, late natural gas executive and scuba fanatic Dennis Langley (who once worked as the speechwriter for President-elect Joe Biden) and his wife, Lyn, built the house and its various additions.

If this impressive property doesn’t float your boat, there’s a stunning prosecco vineyard for sale in rural Italy, alongside a Victorian church which has been converted into a gorgeous family home in South Yorkshire.
