Kourtney Kardashian Reveals She Used to Be Momager Kris Jenner's Assistant: 'I Learned So Much About Being a Boss'

Before Kourtney Kardashian ran her own businesses, she learned tips and tricks from possibly the most recognizable momager in Hollywood: mother Kris Jenner.

For her first interview on her new lifestyle website Poosh, Kardashian, 39, sat down with Jenner for a conversation about “how to be a boss.”

During the chat, Kardashian revealed that she previously worked as Jenner’s assistant years ago.

“So one thing I don’t think people realize is that I used to be your assistant and that I learned so much from you about being a boss,” said Kardashian. “I just remembered that I don’t take no for an answer and I learned that from you and I think that’s an important thing for any boss woman to know.”

She continued: “I really have a hard time taking the answer no and it’s about knowing how to get the answer yes.”

Added Jenner, “And it’s exhausting. It’s a lot of work to get a yes. And then when you get the yes, it’s a commitment.”

But not only did Kardashian learn from her mother — Jenner, 63, gleaned a great amount from her eldest daughter, too.

“First of all, when you were my assistant, that was such a great experience for me too because … you were such a great little student,” said Jenner.

Reflecting on the takeaways that she took from observing the Keeping Up with the Kardashians family matriarch work, Kardashian said, “And I learned so much about being organized and just listening to you on the phone, closing deals and getting your way.”

“Or if someone didn’t pay you, how to get them to pay you,” said Kardashian. “You know, different things that I remember learning.”

Earlier during the chat, Jenner also shared her life motto, which Kardashian has applied to herself.

“My general motto in my life for years has been if somebody says no, you’re talking to the wrong person,” said Jenner. “And I think that there’s so many times in life that I have taken no for an answer and regretted it later. And I think the older you get and the more experience you become in life and as a mom, or in business or in anything that you’re doing in your life, you just become more mature. … It’s more wisdom, but more experience, because being a boss and being in charge is a very brave thing to do.”

Ahead of the KUWTK season 16 premiere on Sunday, Jenner spoke with Ryan Seacrest on his On Air with Ryan Seacrest radio program on Friday, when she praised her six children and the decisions that they’re making in life.

“I think that my kids make really good decisions and I think … as challenging as some of these situations are, I think that because they have one another and they try to make really good decisions, that they’re going to come out the other side with a lot of clarity and a lot of honesty and do what they feel like is the right thing,” she said.

“And I really trust all of my kids to make those good decisions,” she continued about Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
