Laura Whitmore has revealed her ‘edgy’ new job just days after she announced she was quitting her job as Love Island host after three series.
The 37-year-old ITV presenter has swapped her life of glitz and glamour inside the jaw-droppingly beautiful Spanish villa for a grungy new docu-series called Laura Whitmore Investigates.
Her new project is set to “delve into difficult worlds” as she prepared to get “back to her journalism roots” following her slew of presenting gigs since she rose to stardom.

The three-part investigative series is a far cry from her glamorous scenes filmed for the hugely popular ITV2 dating series, as she prepares viewers for her to explore controversial topics where “sex and power collide”.
Less than 48 hours after she confirmed her time on Love Island had come to an end, the blonde bombshell shared her new project with her loyal legion of fans online.
In full view of her 1.5million followers, the Laura confessed her new role on the new ITV investigative series felt like “a dream come true.”
She told her adoring fans: “It’s a dream come true to have this platform and work with a brilliant team at ITV through this series of investigate films.
“Getting back to my journalistic roots, I hope we can shine a light on some really important topics and issues and delve into a variety of serious and interesting real life subjects.”
Jo Clinton-Davis, the factual controller for ITV, said: “We’re excited about the opportunity ITVX presents for us and with our commissioning we want to broaden the palette of factual in very different and surprising ways.
“Documentary box sets with directorial ambition, on a diverse range of subjects, our developing slate; alongside series from new factual talent, including Laura Whitmore Investigates, which we are delighted to announce.”

But that’s not the only huge career change the Irish belle has made this month after she stepped into the acting world when she revealed she was cast as Jenny on the new West End sensation 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Since she confirmed her exit from the TV dating show on Tuesday (August 23), a report has claimed Maya Jama and Vick Hope are the two front runners set to take over her presenting role.
According to The Sun, The Glow Up host, 28, and TV and radio star Vick, 32, are allegedly being considered first by ITV bosses for the role to bring a “cooler edge” to the show.
