On Wednesday evening viewers tuned into BBC One as they prepared to see Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) marry Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace). Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) showed up to try and win back Phil claiming he was marrying the wrong woman.

After being an item for quite some time, Phil and Kat decided to tie the knot this month, although in true soap style it didn’t go to plan.

After Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) returned to Walford, the duo, along with their twin sons, got stranded on a canal boat.

With the motor dying, Kat was running late to the ceremony leaving Phil frustrated.

Although Sharon, who wore a figure hugging off-the-shoulder dress, was on hand to comfort her ex-partner.

Sharon tried to sabotage the wedding day in Kat’s absence as she told Phil he was marrying the wrong woman.

Despite the duo not being together for a while, his near-death experience made her reevaluate her feelings.

After Sharon tried to go in for a kiss to prove how serious she was, Kate showed up just in time before things could progress further.

The bride’s sons admitted to tampering with the boat to try and stop the wedding, leaving Kat and Phil to decide if they wanted to go ahead with the day.

Once they made their decision, Kat told their waiting guests: “We’ve talked it through and we’ve set another date with the vicar, so consider yourselves invited!

“There’ll be no surprises next time!”

Although many fans fumed at Sharon’s attempts to steal the groom, many were left stunned by the actress’s weight loss.

Looking slimmer than ever, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Letitia’s appearance.

Phil Ford said: “Sharon is looking SKINNY MINI.” (sic)

“Sharon looks absolutely stunning at the moment. I’d be surprised if she weighs 4 stone wow she’s so skinny,” commented Shrilpuzz.

With Twitter user Pradatemi adding: “Sharon looks so good in #EastEnders.”

The soap star has spoken about her weight in the past and in 2020 Letitia revealed she had been the target of online trolls.

Speaking on Eastenders spin-off show Secrets from the Square, she said: “I had quite a lot of horrible things said about me.

“’She’s too fat, the other actors complain they can’t fit on the same set with her,”

The actress has been part of the show for many years and first appeared as Sharon when she was only 17 years old.

She and Phil haven’t had the smoothest of relationships over the years as originally she was set to marry his brother Grant (Ross Kemp) but ended up having an affair with Phil.

EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.
