Loose Women viewers ‘get PTSD’ as cringe Grease opening is crashed by Didi Conn

Loose Women viewers joked they ended up with "PTSD" after the show’s "cringe" opening sequence.

As the show kicked off on International Women’s Day, the camera zoomed in on a dressing room door and Andrea MacLean could be heard saying: "We’ve got to dress like this, we’ve got a real Pink Lady on the show!"

As song Summer Nights, from the musical movie Grease plays, Andrea opens the door to reveal she’s dressed up like Sandy.

Jane Moore is dressed as Rizzo, while Kaye Adams and Brenda Edwards become T-Birds.

Just as they’re about to kick off their performance, Stacey Solomon runs in dressed as Frenchy, the pink-haired character played by Didi Conn.

"Wait, wait, wait,"Stacey says. "You cannot do this without me."

Andrea tells her: "But you’re not even supposed to be here today, Stacey."

Stacey explains: "I know, but you’ve got the real Frenchy on, you know how obsessed with her I am, she’s like my spirit animal, everyone says I look like her, you can’t do this without me."

The ladies decided to let Stacey join in and burst into song, some more successfully than others.

As Stacey sings: "Tell me more, tell me more," actress Didi Conn runs in to stop the performance.

"That’s my line," she tells Stacey.

Viewers took to Twitter to call the segment cringeworthy and suggest it had left them traumatised.

One said: "Did I just step into a parallel dimension? What on earth was that?"

"Ooh dear # cringe ," another said.

And one commented: "That’s given me PTSD"

Didi, who took part in the current series of Dancing On Ice, played Frenchy in the hit movie alongside John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

* Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV
