Loose Women: Nadia wouldn’t do Strictly because of partner

However, one Loose Women star won’t ever consider taking part in the much-loved reality show and detailed the reason why during Friday’s edition of the ITV chatshow. As the subject of juggling careers and partners was discussed on the programme, Nadia Sawalha candidly explained her husband, Mark Adderley, is the reason she wouldn’t say yes to a Strictly Come Dancing invite.

Friday’s panelists on the ITV daytime show had been debating sacrificing elements of their careers for the sake of a relationship.

It was sparked by The One Show star Alex Jones’ admission that her ex had stolen an interview from her when they were a couple because he wanted it for his own career progression.

Nadia had explained that the betrayal would have been a deal breaker for her because her career had been so important to her when she was younger.

However, she went on to explain how as she’s got older, her relationship with her husband has taken priority.

As the panelists talked about whether or not they would talk to their partners before agreeing to a job, Nadia confessed she would never say yes to being on Strictly Come Dancing.

“Well, it would depend on why he didn’t want me to do the job,” she argued when questioned about what her reaction would be if Mark hadn’t wanted her to do something.

She continued: “You know, it would be highly unusual for him to say he didn’t want me to do a job.

“But there would be certain jobs – I’ve spoken about this before and Mark’s spoken really openly about this – he really did, years ago, suffer with jealousy.

“Like, between us. We’re both very fiery Scorpios, all of that.

“And he’s done so much work on that and I find that so admirable, and it’s just brilliant how much work he’s put into it.

“So there’s certain jobs that I just wouldn’t do.

“Not because he would say to me, ‘Don’t do it,’ because he never would, but I would just feel that would be a difficult thing.”

“So like if you were offered the next movie with Brad Pitt and you had to do a love scene?” Jane Moore asked.

“No, I wouldn’t do a big, like… I wouldn’t do Strictly or anything like that,” the actress replied.

She added: “Just out of… just because I know it could be difficult.

“If I went home now and said, ‘They’ve asked me to do Strictly,’ he’d say, ‘Oh, great, do it.’

“But I know possibly what that cost could be.” Kaye Adams jokingly responded: “Well they’ve asked me to do Celebrity Naked Attraction…”
