Prince Harry is working on a tell-all book about his life which was due to be released at the end of this year. It is understood the memoir’s publishing date has been pushed back following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, but Lorraine Kelly believes the Duke of Sussex should “bin” the book altogether.
The upcoming book is due to document the Prince losing his mother, Princess Diana, his marriage to Meghan Markle and his decision to step down as a senior royal.
Lorraine weighed in on the “explosive” book on Wednesday’s instalment of her ITV talk show.
During a chat with royal expert Russell Myers, Lorraine said: “They’ve been brought back into the fold, which is good.
“It’s what you want. I think bin the book or just make it a tribute.”
“Well is that possible though because they’ve signed a big money deal?” Russel asked.
“You can always give the money back,” Lorraine suggested. “I don’t know how it works, but it’s strange.”
Lorraine’s comments come following reports of Harry and William being involved in a “rift”.
Many people have been hoping the Queen’s death would bring the brothers, and the rest of the Royal Family, closer together.
Harry and William were seen with their wives looking at floral tributes to the late monarch outside Windsor Castle and they all attended her funeral service on Monday in Westminster Abbey.
However, Harry and Meghan were in the second row behind the Prince and Princess of Wales, their three children, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.
It has also been reported Harry’s memoir could be amended with extra chapters to bring it up to date if its release date is put on hold.
Speculation has been mounting that the additional pages would be about Her Majesty’s death.
Last Monday, Harry paid tribute to his late grandmother in a touching statement.
The father-of-two described the 96-year-old monarch as his “guiding compass”.
He penned: “In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen – and in mourning her loss – we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty.
“She was globally admired and respected. Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy.”
Harry added: “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.”
Other royal experts have had their say on the possible postponement of Harry’s memoir in recent days.
Royal biographer Angela Nevin told The Sun: “I think it’s likely that Catherine and William will try to avoid any contact with Harry and Meghan until they know the contents of Harry’s memoirs and their Netflix documentary.”
Lorraine airs on weekdays from 9am on ITV.
