Love Island fans label Olivia and Kai’s flirting ‘fake’ after sudden connection

There have been signs of a new romance brewing between Olivia Hawkins and Kai Fagan in the Love Island villa after the pair enjoyed a breakfast date together.

But after Kai, 24, told Olivia, 27, about how much he has "enjoyed" their conversations so far, Love Island viewers have revealed that they aren't confident it is a real connection between them – with many branding their conversations and flirting as "fake".

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Kai and Olivia drumming up some fake connection because nobody wants them is hilarious."

Another said: "Kai is soooooo fake! He’s only grafting Olivia cos he knows all the girls will want Jordan."

A third added: "Such a fake conversation on both sides Olivia and Kai #loveisland."

"Kai going back to Olivia is just screaming desperate if I’m being honest," a fourth agreed, while another shared: "I think the producers have orchestrated Kai and Olivia. Cause there is no 'spark'."

One social media user then compared Kai and Olivia to ex islanders Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard as they shared: "Kai and Olivia is killing me sorry, it’s like when Maura woke up one day and decided she wanted Curtis, pure survival instincts #LoveIsland."

Maura, 32, was initially a bombshell and during her time on the show, and coupled up with Tom Walker, Marvin Brooks and Chris Taylor before reaching the final with Curtis, 26.

Maura and Curtis carried on their relationship when they left the dating show, but broke up eight months later.

The winter series of Love Island 2023 has certainly kept viewers on the edge of their seats this year, especially when Shaq Muhammed called out Ron Hall for his "misogynist" behaviour. And after Shaq, 24, raised his concerns with Ron, 25, in front of the boys, many fans applauded the islander on Twitter.

It came after Will Young, 23, quizzed Ron on how he felt about his situation with Lana Jenkins, also 25, getting to know other people in the villa after he made it clear he wanted to explore his options.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm chilling," Ron said. "If people don't believe me when I say this is what we needed, thank f***.

"She'll feel the way I felt when she's grafting another fella and getting to know them and she can't say anything about it because you're both in the same predicament."

Will said: "But I don't think Lana going into it like, 'Oh Ron's doing it so I'm going to do it,' you know what I mean? I think her intentions will be a bit different."

Ron replied: "She needs to go and do that, she needs to go find out what kind of fella he is and then realise that I'm better, it's as simple as that," before Shaq asked: "Do you feel like you've done anything wrong in the Lana situation?"

He said: "The one thing I did wrong was promise something I didn't do," before Shaq shared: "I'm just gonna give you the realness now, the way you've treated that girl is so out of order and it's a bit wrong.

"You've said one thing and done another. That girl has serious feelings for you and I feel like you've taken advantage of her because you know she's such a nice girl and was going to be there for you for the whole time. I don't agree with how you treated her, I think what you said and what you do is two completely different things."

Shaq continued: "You've said that Lana is your number one priority but you've treated that girl at any point but your number one priority. You've treated her like your safety net."

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Shaq is the first and only man I’ve ever seen on this show regularly and consistently call out other men for their toxic or misogynist behaviour towards women. the women in his life did good #LoveIsland."

Another said: "Nah give Shaq that £50k now for the fact he’s holding all these men accountable for their actions #loveisland."
