Love Island fans stunned as 'loyal' Georgia Steel splits up with Sam Bird so they can stay in the villa as singletons

After the other islanders decided Wes and Megan were a more loyal and genuine couple than Georgia and Sam, Caroline Flack gave the latter pairing the choice to leave the island as a happy couple.

Georgia screamed and threw a pillow in anger, unsure why her housemates doubted them.

Sam reassured her: "They've done this because we're the strongest I know it."

Meanwhile, Josh told girlfriend Kaz: "If that's me I'm on a flight bro."

Jack Fincham said: "If that was me it wouldn't even be a discussion."

Georgia's decision surprised her friends, with Dani saying: "Georgia's such a little s**t. She just loves a bit of drama the girl."

Viewers weren't buying Sam and Georgia's reasoning, writing: "If you’d practiced what you preached Georgia you’d be gone ✌? #thesehoesaintloyal #LoveIsland.

"The public don’t want you there, the other islanders don’t want you there, and yet you still stay ? #awlkward #loyal @LoveIsland ??.

"Georgia needs to go home man #loveisland.

"Ohh so now cause they’re not bf & girlfriend its ok? But when Josh …nvm ??‍♂️#loveisland."

Georgia hit it off straight away with Brummie DJ Josh Mair, while Sam seemed keen on surfer chick Laura Crane as they sampled the newbies.

Both made it clear they weren't in a relationship with the other, insisting they wanted to make sure they ended up with the right person.

After Charlie and Ellie got the boot in last night's show, Caroline threw Sam and Georgia a curveball.

She told them: "You haven’t been saved by the public or your fellow Islanders.

"Therefore, you cannot stay on Love Island as a couple. This doesn’t have to be the end of your Love Island journey.

"It’s a huge decision, it’s either split up and remain in the villa or stay together and leave.

"Before you make that decision, I can tell you there are two new boys and two new girls waiting to enter the villa today.

"If you decide to split up and stay on the Island, you will each date two new Islanders and head back to the villa.

"You will decide who to couple up with on the next recoupling. But you can’t be with each other.

"If you decide to stay as a couple, you will leave immediately without returning to the villa."

"You can take some time now to talk it out and come back to me with your decision.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
