Love Island has been hit with 57 new Ofcom complaints as fans slammed what they saw as misogynistic behaviour on the show.

The hit ITV2 dating show has already been slapped with nearly 800 complaints to Ofcom from furious fans since the new series returned last month.

The programme received 781 complaints in just four weeks after fans fumed over age gaps, islander bust-ups and the mental health of the contestants.

This week's batch of complaints came following the episode on July 6 and related to alleged mysogynistic behaviour displayed by male islanders such as Jacques.

Ofcom confirmed comments were mainly aimed at Jacques though there were other, more general comments.

It comes after Jacques O'Neill decided to quit the villa following his heated bust-up with former contestant Adam Collard over Paige, his villa flame.
