The winter series of Love Island could be heading for big changes as show bosses are reportedly considering an All Stars series for 2024.
The ITV show has had two series in 2023 – a winter series filmed in South Africa earlier this year and a summer series filmed in Mallorca – with host Maya Jama stepping on board to present the show.
The winter series of the show first aired in 2020 and and then didn't happen again until earlier this year.
However, that could be set to change, after one source claims the winter edition of the dating show is set to be replaced with a series made up of former show contestants from next year.
An All Stars series of the show could not just feature some fan favourites from the UK show, but also from other series of the show in the US and Australia.
A source told MailOnline: “The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren't interested in watching the show twice a year.
“It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.
“In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by.”
A spokesperson for ITV told OK!: “Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024."
The series has been experimenting with bringing back previous Islanders recently, including Adam Collard and Kady McDermott who have returned to the show years after their initial appearances and Jessie Wynter, who first found fame on Love Island Australia.
The winter series of Love Island was won earlier this year by Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan while Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were Love Island winter winners in 2020.
Meanwhile, the contestants of this summer's series are currently gearing up for the big final, which takes place on Monday (July 31) evening.
Mitchell and Ella B were dumped from the villa on Sunday evening, confirming the final four couples set to make it through to the final.
This means the final four couples of the show are: Ty and Ella, Sammy and Jess, Molly and Zach, and Whitney and Lochan.
The winner will be decided by public vote and announced in a live show from the villa hosted by Maya Jama.
