Love Island's Hayley and Charlie refuse to sit next to each other on Lorraine

The pairing clashed as a couple in the days leading up to their exit from the villa on Friday and tensions are still running high now they're back in England.

Lorraine Kelly revealed she would be speaking to the pair separately, pulling a face as she said: "They're both here this morning, but they don't want to be on the sofa together. Awkward!

"So we're going to talk to Charlie first and Hayley waits backstage."

Charlie admitted things were far from rosy between them, saying: "We're fine, but it's frosty. I'm a bit annoyed to be honest. I'm bitter and angry but not to her. I'm gutted not to still be in there."

Caroline Flack told Charlie off last night after he rowed with Hayley on Love Island spin-off Aftersun.

Resentful over his exit, Charlie told Hayley she “wasn’t liked as a person”.

The former couple were kept apart at the start of the episode as they struggled to get along – with some fans even joking it was like an episode of Jeremy Kyle.

Charlie had previously made no secret of how annoyed he was at leaving the villa so early in the competition.

He made his feelings clear again when he sat down to talk with Caroline.

Hayley appeared on the sofa first and told Caroline she thought Charlie was “bitter” about having to leave.

When Caroline invited Charlie to join them, he didn’t greet Hayley and the pair shuffled away from one another on the couch.

Charlie went on to declare he didn’t think he would  have left it he had chosen to partner with Samira Mighty or Georgia Steel.

Hayley interrupted him and asked him how he knew he wouldn’t have been in the bottom two, arguing the public loved Dr Alex George and would always have saved him.

Taking a breath, Charlie then muttered: “You weren't liked as a person!”

Caroline was stunned and shouted: “No, Charlie!” as the audience nervously laughed.

Olivia Attwood, who was a panellist on the show, then shouted her support for Hayley.

Hayley tried to have the final word and told Charlie: “You can’t be so certain you wouldn’t be in the bottom two when you’re up against Alex! So have a little think on that one…”

But Charlie sniped back: “I wouldn’t have been in the bottom two if I was with someone else.”

Afterwards Caroline admitted she thought there was still chemistry between the pair but Hayley and Charlie were quick to deny it.

Shaking their heads, they both agreed they’d never be anything more than pals.

If they could even be called that…
