The actress, who reprises her role as Nakia in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, has a hilarious response to persistent question about who will take the mantle as the titular superhero in the upcoming sequel.
AceShowbiz –Lupita Nyong’o is hyping up the highly-anticipated release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with a hilarious response to a burning question about the movie. Making use of her social media account, the actress has teased fans about who will be the new Black Panther is.
On Saturday, August 6, the Oscar-winning actress let out a hilarious video in which she addressed fans’ curiosity about who will take the baton from the late Chadwick Boseman in the upcoming movie. The clip began with a voiceover saying, “When they ask me to tell them who the new Black Panther is…,” while Nyong’o kept a serious face.
The 39-year-old brought the camera closer to her face as if she’s about to tell a secret, before letting people know that “there is no way” she will let it slip. She mouthed the lyrics to Ricky Dillard‘s gospel song “There Is No Way”.
In the caption, Nyong’o wrote, “Dropping hints about who the new Black Panther is…” and added the hashtags “WakandaForever,” “GospelTruth,” “BlackPanther” and “Spoilers.”
Nyong’o reprises her role as Nakia, an undercover spy for Wakanda, who is depicted as Boseman’s T’Challa a.k.a. Black Panther’s love interest in the first film. She recently opened up about how it was filming the sequel after losing the actor.
“It’s been a doozy of a few years for everybody,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in July. “For us as a cast, having lost our king, Chadwick Boseman, that was a lot to process, and in many ways, we’re still processing it. When you lose someone, I don’t know when you stop missing them. And of course, we felt it so much, making this film without him.”
She added, “To make this film against all odds is a powerful statement unto itself, and I am very proud that we did it. It was very therapeutic. It restored a sense of hope for me in making it, and I think we’ve expanded the world of Wakanda in ways that will blow people’s minds-not just Wakanda, but the ‘Black Panther’ world. It’s gonna blow people’s minds, and I just cannot wait until it’s not a secret anymore.”
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will arrive in theaters across the nation on November 11. Besides Nyong’o, other returning cast members include Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke and Martin Freeman. Ryan Coogler is back to serve as the helmer.
