Stunning Wife
He is often see dishing out marriage advice to hopeful singletons on Married At First Sight UK and Celebs Go Dating, but what’s the state of Paul’s own marriage when he’s off-camera?
American star Paul is married to his gorgeous wife Jill, with the couple meeting over two decades ago back in 2000 at Virginia’s Old Dominion University in America while they were both studying there.
Via an Instagram post, Paul said the one thing which made them “instantly attracted to each other” was their mutual “transparency” and “no games were played”.
During their time together, they’ve welcomed two sons Liam and Kingston, with Paul often offering fans a glimpse into family life with some sweet snaps on Instagram. Jill is also a marriage advice guru and spends time home schooling their two sons.
Paul, who has been married for 21 years, told fans that marriage is about “growing” and having the support of family and friends.
He gushed on Instagram: “I believe a marriage is not simply between two individuals but between two families, surrounded by a larger group of friends and other people you allow into your life. If all of those groups are supportive, the marriage stands a better chance of growing.”
Therapy Struggle
The marriage coach has revealed that even he seeks extra therapy while filming the UK version of the explosive reality series.
While Paul is always there for the contestants, he’s now explained the process is tough for the experts too and admitted he seeks therapy to tackle some of the more challenging aspects of his job.
Paul told Metro: “I’ve been doing TV for 12 years and I would say that this show is probably the most challenging out of all the shows I’ve ever done.
“In the last decade I see a therapist once every week but when the show is running, I see my therapist twice.”
He cites the pressure of guiding couples through “the biggest commitment that you can make in life” and dealing with the “hypersensitivity” of the contestants and topics at hand.
“That’s [marriage] the highest commitment that you can make in life, in my opinion, that’s the biggest decision that you can make in life that dictates everything else – happiness, how long you live, etc.
“So we’re dealing with this hypersensitivity around this very, very important question.
“And then at the same time, you have this other elements of people who they’re competing with at the same time.”
