Vintage jewellery and fashion expert Charlotte Rogers will feature in tonight’s instalment of ITV’s Million Pound Pawn as she’s called in to help pawnbroker Dan Hatfield with the valuation of a guest’s handbag collection. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Charlotte discussed her career in the business and detailed a huge six-figure valuation of Hermès Birkin bags.
The fashion expert recalled her most expensive and prestigious valuations as she detailed the brands she looks for.
Charlotte explained: “With us, what we’re tending to buy and sell is the really beautiful brands and the really exciting pieces.
“There’s a couple of pieces that have really kind of stuck in my memory.
“In terms of expense so you get the normal Chanel 255 flat bags they’re around £3,000–£3,500 pre-loved,” she continued.

“And once I found in a private sale, nobody knew about it a fantastic blue lizard skin vintage 1989 Chanel flap bag.
“I actually kept [it] into my own private collection because it’s so rare and so unique and that bag could be worth anything around £10,000.
“In terms of actual valuations, we value lots of very exquisite bag so Hermès Birkin [bags] things like that.”
The Million Pound Pawn expert detailed the prices these bags can fetch and what makes them so valuable.
“And for those you’re talking £50,000, £60,000, up to £150,000, £160,000 per piece,” the fashion specialist said.
“So they’re real investable works of art and they will have diamond Platinum hardware and they’ll be made out of exotic fabulous skins.
“They’re available on the market and they’re the pieces that people want in terms of investment.
“But in terms of the most valuable exciting piece that I was able to buy at a good price, that was something really special to me is my lizard skin Chanel.”

The fashion specialist went on to recall her most memorable valuation which took place during Milan Fashion Week.
“I think one of the most memorable ones that I’ve done personally is, I travel a lot, I travel around the world speaking to suppliers looking at private collections,” she shared.
“And a couple of years ago we had a really big deal with a Milan fashion specialist.
“Some of the fabulous ladies in Milan, they like to sell off their handbags occasionally they like to renew and buy new collections and things like that.
“We were in a really privileged position to be able to value a huge private collection of Hermès Birkins and Kelly [bags].”
Charlotte added: “[They were] all different colours something that a lady kept in her dressing room, almost as works of art for herself for all these years and we were able to value and aid in the sale of all those pieces.
“That [was] probably our most memorable [valuation] being in Milan during Fashion Week.
“The holy grail of fashion dealing is when you get to be in the middle of everything, especially on a date like that and somewhere like Milan, as well,” she added.
Million Pound Pawn continues on ITV tonight at 8pm.
