Moira (Natalie J. Robb) returns to Emmerdale in upcoming episodes, along with Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Isaac (Bobby Dunsmoir) and Kyle (Huey Quinn).
Amy took her son to Belfast when she discovered that he was the one who shot Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
Moira soon followed taking Isaac with her, as the pressure of keeping the secret about Kyle and seeing Cain face years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit became too much.
As they return, it’s clear that nothing much has changed. Matty (Ash Palmisciano) is upset that Moira and Amy kept Kyle’s secret from him, while Cain (Jeff Hordley) is relieved to have Moira back but is worried by how many people now know what really happened in the barn when Al Chapman was killed.
While Amy and Moira both think the best thing for Kyle is to try to live a normal life, which means returning to school, Matty isn’t convinced.
When he finds a collection of rocks that Kyle has placed in the barn, he realises that the boy has been creating a memorial for Al.
He looks for Kyle, and as Ash Palmisciano told us, Kyle is ‘In his own world, he’s nothing like himself. Any kid that’s showing behaviour like that, it needs to be looked at.’ While Matty tries to convince Moira and Amy that Kyle needs help, they’re adamant that he can’t talk to anyone about it and needs to go to school.
‘Matty’s thinking if people start noticing [Kyle’s troubled behaviour] they’re going to call him out and they’re going to start unravelling it,’ Ash warns. ‘He just sort of flags that to them but they’re too far gone down this rabbit hole now, they can’t turn back.’
As Kyle sets off for school, will Matty’s fears prove to be well founded?
