Nate faces violent danger at the hands of sinister criminal in Emmerdale

Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) finds himself getting into some very hot water in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale when he finds that his new job brings him into contact with some very sinister characters.

Nate’s old school friend Corey agrees a working relationship with Cain (Jeff Hordley)’s garage, promising to put a lot of cars his way. Nate’s surprised to see Corey and they have a good catch up, but Nate is embarrassed that his financial circumstances are so much worse than Corey’s especially since Moira (Natalie J. Robb) had to reduce his hours at the farm.

Later, Nate goes to Corey’s office to ask him if he has any work going and he’s shocked to see Caleb (William Ash) there. Wanting to help Cain out financially but knowing that Cain is already angry over the loan that Moira took from him, Caleb has encouraged Corey to give work to Cain’s garage.

Caleb has a guilty conscience as he’s one of the reasons why Moira’s farm is in such financial trouble after he deliberately sabotaged it as part of his plan against Kim Tate (Claire King). Despite Caleb repeatedly asserting that he never meant to harm anyone in his family and always meant to pay Moira back, this has cut no ice with Cain.

Nate knows that Cain would be livid if he knew about Caleb’s arrangement, so he says he’ll tell his dad everything unless Corey gives him a job.

This turns out to be only the start of Nate’s problems as it soon becomes apparent that Corey’s activities are not always legitimate. He’s soon pointing out to Nate that there are ways to make money on the side, and this brings him into contact with a character called Harry.

Harry and Corey have a deal which is legally dubious and Nate is soon aware of it but agrees to keep quiet about it because he’s earning big tips.

Caleb has also noticed that there’s something fishy about Harry’s dealings with the business and he asks Nate to keep an eye on Corey and report back.

Because he’s getting used to having the extra cash, Nate tells Caleb that there’s nothing untoward going on, but he later tips off Corey that Caleb might be on to him.

Eventually Nate starts to feel uncomfortable about being in the middle of this whole arrangement and tries to get Corey to back out of his dealings with Harry, but Corey warns him that if they get on the wrong side of Harry it could get very nasty for both of them.

Newcomer Corey is played by soap stalwart Robert Beck, who last starred in the show 24 years ago as Bernice’s fiancé Gavin Ferris.

Can Nate get out of this scary situation?

On his new role, he enthused: ‘I am thrilled to be working on Emmerdale again, it’s a great show that I have followed for years, with a fabulous cast. It has always had a special place in my heart.

I had a fantastic time working on the show playing Gavin Ferris, 24 years ago. The cast and crew were so welcoming and of course, I met my wife because of that job so I have much to thank Emmerdale for!

‘I’m looking forward to getting involved and to working with such a great bunch again.’
