Naughty Boy has insisted he is not taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here to get more work in the industry.
The hit record producer, whose real name is Shahid Khan, is set to take on the castle in Wales later this month in the next series of the ITV hit reality show.
The 36 year old is confident that he will be a strong contestant in I'm a Celeb and admits that it would be an incredible achievement to be crowned ‘King of the Castle’.
“Even going in the Castle means more to me,” he admitted, “Whilst I want to be a good team player, I would not mind winning.
“I would never expect that [to win] and it would be an achievement for me.”
The music star who has worked with some of the biggest names within the industry including Beyonce and Sam Smith, has stressed that he is not going on the show for new career opportunities.
“I am actually too busy at the moment,” he explained.
“And I am going to be working right up until I go into the Castle. I am working on a film at present and I am missing a lot of things.
"I will be busy again when I come out. I am not going into the Castle to see what else I can do!”
Naughty Boy also shared his excitement that fans will get to know the “real” him without his music, while he also gets the chance to challenge himself.
“I want people to know the real me,” he began. “I am not a celebrity at all. My music is the celebrity and now is the chance for me to show people what I am really like. I am most looking forward to learning about myself.
“I don’t know what people in the music industry will think about me being in the Castle but having a break from everything is something I think everyone should have and do once a year. I love my friends and family, but I think it is good to have a break and time out.”
The hit producer has said the person that he’ll miss the most while filming the show is his beloved mum, who he cares for as she suffers with dementia. During his time in the castle, Shahid hopes to raise more awareness about the illness.
“I think it is important for people like myself to create awareness about it,” the producer explained.
“Dementia UK needs constant funding, and I am going to miss Mum the most whilst I am away in the Castle. I live with Mum, and I am used to seeing her all the time. Mum hasn’t been very well, and it is going to be difficult for me being away. But that said, I think the break will be good for both of us.”
I'm A Celebrity 2021 kicks off on Sunday 21 November at 9pm on ITV and the ITV Hub.
