The next Coronation Street legend to get killed off has been "revealed" by AI — and fans are not going to be happy.

The hit ITV soap, which has been on TV screens for 63 years, is no stranger to shaking things up for its loyal legion of viewers.

Earlier this year, fans were left predicting an emotional death for show legend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) when he faced a devastating health scare.

After collapsing on the famous cobbles and experiencing breathing problems, Roy had to undergo an operation for his diagnosis of angina.

Thankfully the character, that has been on the soap since 1995, came through the medical procedure OK.

But still, fans have since been waiting with bated breath for the next Corrie legend to get killed off from the soap.

Well now, Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI, to see which Coronation Street legend could be facing the boot.

When asked which show legend could get killed off, the programme speculated: “There are many Coronation Street legends who could be killed off next.”

At the top of the list is show alum Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) who has been on the soap since 1979.

The AI program said: “Audrey Roberts is a popular character on Coronation Street, but she has also been through a lot in her life. She has survived cancer, a stroke, and the death of her husband, Alf. It is possible that she could be killed off in the near future, as she is not getting any younger.”

What’s more, it could also be said that Audrey is at risk of even getting murdered, as her son is serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

The AI system explained: “In one episode, he pushed her down the stairs and in another, he threatened to kill her. It is possible that he could eventually snap and kill her for real.”

Up next is Ken Barlow (William Roache) who is the longest-serving character on Coronation Street, having been in the soap since 1960.

As viewers will know, Ken left the cobbles back in 2020 when he moved from the famous street after 69 years of living there.

It didn’t last long though, as he shortly returned from a retirement home to his residence at No1.

However, according to Bard AI there are “a few reasons” as to why Ken could get killed off.

“First, he is an older character, and the writers may decide that it is time for him to die of natural causes,” the program said.

“Second, he has been involved in a number of dramatic storylines in recent years, and the writers may feel that they have taken him as far as they can go. Third, his death could be used to spark a number of new storylines, such as the fallout for his family and friends.”

Following closely behind is leopard-print-wearing icon Bet Lynch, played by Julie Goodyear – who appeared on the show from 1970 until 1995.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that 81-year-old Julie had sadly been diagnosed with dementia.

And apparently, Corrie bosses could write the character out off-screen via a shocking death storyline.

“It is possible that Goodyear's condition will make it difficult or impossible for her to continue acting,” Bard AI said.

The AI system went on: “She may decide to retire from the role in the near future, which could lead to Bet Lynch being killed off.”
