Paddy and Mandy sleep together amid drunken despair in Emmerdale

An old flame was reignited between Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) in this evenings episode of Emmerdale, as the pair slept together amid their shared drunken despair.

Mandy has been having a hard time of it lately with the Salon, as business hasn’t been as good as it once was. She has been forced to let Bernice (Samantha Giles) go, and still things aren’t looking any brighter.

Meanwhile, Paddy is still trying to get his life back together after the discovery that wife Chas (Lucy Pargeter) had been having an affair.

Tonight, Paddy, who was supposed to be spending the night with daughter Eve, was left at a loose end after she ended up going away for the night with her mum.

A wandering Mandy soon found him looking gloomy, and offered to take him home for a butty.

As they ate, the pair bonded over their troubles, with Paddy confessing that, as Eve had said that morning after not hearing his heartbeat during a game of doctors, he feels dead.

Soon, their cups of tea were swapped for bottles of wine, and the pair took a trip down memory lane, accompanied by some appropriate tunes.

With the alcohol flowing, Mandy admitted that she fancied Paddy all those years ago, and she still does now.

One thing led to another, and suddenly their song, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ began to play.

As if it were meant to be, Mandy launched herself onto Paddy as the episode ended.

Actress Lisa Riley revealed what it was like to film the scenes, saying that she felt ‘in tune’ with her scene partner.

‘It was so amazing for me and Dom[inic Brunt] to shoot this, we had a ball.

‘They become children when they’re together. Mandy brings out the child in Paddy and Paddy loves that.’

Is this the start of a blossoming new relationship for Mandy and Paddy, or will they regret everything in the morning?
