The first contestant of Dancing on Ice has been exclusive revealed today on ITV This Morning as Pasty Palmer.
The EastEnders legend joined Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield live on the daytime show to share the exciting news as the hosts told her, "no backing out now!".
A giggling Patsy said: "Out of all the things that came through this was the one I had to really think about."
She added: "Obviously I want to challenge myself, get back to work, get out of my comfort zone and I just thought I'll go for it. It seems a lot of fun and I do like ice skating though I'm not an ice skater."
Phillip said: "You've turned this down before. We've asked you before."
Patsy replied: "Yes I know I've been terrified before but I was 50 this and I have to do things to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone."
She added: "50 is such a weird age so this is kind of for all the 50 year olds out there. I'm actually quite scared now."
Holly asked how she's felt keeping it a secret and Patsy said: "Yeah my daughter has been travelling so she'll be like 'what is going on?'."
Dancing On Ice will return to our screens in January 2023.
Rumours have been swirling around who else will be joining the line up for this year's series with Love Island star Andrew Le Page being tipped as a possible favourite.
Addressing the reports that he’s signed up for the series, Andrew, 27, exclusively told OK! that he’d love to take on the ITV skating show.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it but I’d love to do it if they’d have me,” Andrew said. “I can’t dance but I’ve got a very good teacher in Tasha.”
Another possible contestant is former Love Islander Laura Anderson who was rumoured to be in talks with ITV bosses to join the skating competition.
The 31 year old reality TV star has auditioned for the show in the past, according to The Sun, and although she impressed the bosses, the blonde Scottish beauty lost out to her ex Wes Nelson.
Regan Gascoigne was crowned winner of Dancing On Ice 2022. Speaking after being awarded the trophy, Regan said he never thought he'd win the show, after breaking down in tears.
Rugby champ Ben Foden was the first to be evicted from the most recent series of the ice skating show, while Pussycat Dolls’ Kimberly Wyatt, 40 and Strictly’s Brendan Cole, 45 also made it all the way to the final.
Pussycat Dolls Kimberley Wyatt said Dancing on Ice was a “beautiful experience” and credited the show for adding a “spark” back into her marriage to Max Rogers.
She told The Sun: “You know, Max fell in love with me because he saw me on stage dancing and he was just, like . . . he loves what I do.”
She continued: “So to re-spark that love and remind us of where we started. As hard as this experience [Dancing On Ice] could be on a marriage, my husband has been unbelievable and supportive, and I can’t wait to run back into his arms and when the final is over, sort of respark our lives.”
The launch date for Dancing on Ice 2023 is yet to be confirmed but it's thought to be lined up for mid-January.
