Piers Morgan slams ‘young wokies’ at ITV

Piers Morgan was booed on Tuesday evening as he was introduced at the National Television Awards.

It comes after host Joel Dommett was introducing a series of people nominated in various categories.

Joel said: “Piers Morgan is here!”

However, when the camera panned to the TalkTV host, booing could be heard from audiences in the crowd.

As Piers seemed to be ignoring the less-than-warm reaction, Joel couldn’t help but comment on the situation.

Picking up on the reaction, Joel said: “Hey, everyone, say what you like about Piers Morgan-“

Although that appeared to be all he had to say as Piers pulled a confused face at the jibe that was made.

Piers is up for the TV interviews category at the NTAs for Piers Morgan Uncensored on Talk TV

However, it appeared as though he believes people are less than impressed with him being nominated.

Speaking to PA on the red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony on Tuesday night, the Talk TV star said: “They’d all rather shoot themselves then give me an award.

“But, but if it’s just on interviews, hard to say that anyone else has had bigger ones that we’ve had in the last year.”

Speaking about how he might fair in his category, he added: “I don’t have any competition.”

Picking up on the booing at the ceremony, people were quick to comment on the jibe.
