Pink-obsessed businesswoman's mansion features pink champagne bar

Lisa Marie Brown has carved a career out of being unconventional.

The fuchsia-haired, 40-year-old entrepreneur, based in the coastal community of Rhoose, in the Vale of Glamorgan, has a passion for challenging stereotypes.

Through her company,, she provides training, practical skills and mentoring to encourage girls and women to break into the traditionally male-dominated spheres of construction and building.

And, in her spare time, she indulges her passion for racing hot-pink supercars at a competitive level.

Lisa Marie is the owner of a trio of envy-inducing motors, including the UK’s first customised pink Ferrari, a Porsche Panamera and – her favourite – a limited-edition McLaren 600LT.

‘I just love to drive the McLaren, the technology is mind-blowing,’ says Lisa Marie, who has had her own show on Cardiff TV, Superstars And Supercars, and is used to turning heads when behind the wheel.

Having just been placed as a finalist in the Top 50 Formula Woman competition, she hopes to make it into the top ten of the GT Cup Championship later this year, driving an aerodynamically inspired £150,000 McLaren 570S, with its teardrop-shaped cockpit and a top speed of about 200mph.

As you’d imagine, she is not the kind of person who spent lockdowns perfecting her banana bread.

Instead, as well as honing her racing skills, she has spent much of the past 12 months working on her 3,086sq ft, four-bedroom house, part of a small enclave of LA-style modernist homes, near the seafront town of Barry, 13 miles from Cardiff.

Dubbed ‘the pink supercar house’ by locals, Dreamwood, as Lisa Marie calls it, has been transformed from an anodyne new-build into a luxurious coastal retreat, featuring an Instagram-worthy magenta wall, a ‘Jacuzzi jungle’ garden with a pink champagne bar, a gym and glam indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces.

‘I bought the house a year ago, having fallen in love with the location, but everything inside was really neutral, so I wanted to put my own stamp on it,’ says Lisa Marie.

She shares the home with her partner, who she says prefers to stay out of the limelight. ‘As my dad was a builder, I spent a lot of my childhood helping him out on sites, and picked up a lot of skills. My experience on building sites and working from a young age has stood me in good stead.’

The home is full of pink pops and flashes, in furniture, artwork and on the rear garden walls. For Lisa Marie, there is nothing girlish or overtly feminine about pink. Instead it represents the power of transformation and affirmation.

‘I have used the colour pink in my business, cars and home as a signal to encourage and empower other women to really go for their dreams. I’ve had tricky times in my life, and always wanted to use those experiences to be a role model for other people struggling. If I can do it, so can you.’

She has renovated five other homes and did a lot of the handiwork in and outside Dreamwood herself, including carpentry, furniture installation, painting and decorating. But she got professionals in to resurface the driveway.

‘I needed more room to park the supercars,’ she says. It now holds at least five, plus there’s a double garage. Inside the house, Lisa Marie focused on reconfiguring the spaces to serve her needs perfectly, with an emphasis on bold pattern and colour.

On the ground floor, the open-plan, cashmere-coloured Wren kitchen is subtle enough, but the pink Fendi-inspired wall, created by one of Lisa Marie’s graphics team, and electric-blue chairs around the concrete dining table, with a trio of chrome Tom Dixon globes hanging above, add the requisite zing.

Bifold doors open to what she calls her ‘Jacuzzi jungle’, with hot tub, lushly planted wall and bursts of pink in sunshades, a champagne bar and sculptures.

This floor also has a dedicated cinema room, with huge lounging sofas from DFS, and Lisa Marie’s gym: her beloved boxing kit is by Evo Fitness and her weights, pink of course, by Pro Plates.

Upstairs, via an open-tread wood staircase with glass balustrade, a glass mezzanine-style balcony overlooks the hallway, and there are four pale, contemporary bedrooms, with dressing and clothes storage areas.

An oval tub in one marble-walled bathroom adds to the sense of luxe, and artwork throughout the house includes a print of pink lips inspired by a Louis Vuitton pattern and black-and-white photography.

Despite her love of opulence, Lisa Marie is budget and eco-conscious, sourcing furniture from HomeSense and, and she loves to upcycle.

‘I like making things out of rubbish,’ she says. ‘I’ve created sun loungers out of old wooden pallets. I’m also planning to make coffee tables out of old airplane waste and engines.’

Some of these could end up used as part of her and her partner’s latest venture, Pink Supercars & Coffee, offering the perfect cappuccino alongside supercar hire and Porsche parties.

Lisa Marie is, however, still very focused on Pinkspiration. Founded in 2011, the business has now trained around 11,000 women in construction or got them work placements, and has brought about 100 empty shops and homes in the Cardiff area back into use.

‘I am super-proud of what we’ve achieved,’ she says. ‘It is never too late to learn a new skill.’

Dreamwood is now up for sale, for offers in excess of £799,000.

‘I absolutely love this house’ says Lisa Marie. ‘But we want to sell up to buy another home nearby.’ The pink supercars are sure to take centre stage there, too.
