A Sky News presenter broke down in tears live on air on Thursday (February 2) following an emotional interview with the heartbroken family of missing person, Nicola Bulley.

Nicola, 45, was last seen on Friday morning (January 27) in St. Michael's in Wyre, Lancashire.

And after interviewing members of her family about their ongoing agony, presenter Sarah-Jane Mee was clearly overcome with emotion from the chat.

Discussing the disappearance, Nicola's sister Louise Cunningham admitted: "If I'm being honest, it feels like I'm just stuck in a nightmare.

"We're going round and round in circles trying to piece together what could have possibly happened.

"It's like she's just vanished into thin air. We just want her home, we need her home, her children need her home. It's absolutely heartbreaking. We just want you back."

Back in the studio, meanwhile, Sarah continued with the show trying to fight back the tears.

"A very emotional interview there with Nicola Bulley's family," Sarah-Jane said, before her voice broke, which led to her adding: "Excuse me."

It comes after Nicola's parents, Ernest, 73, and Dot, 72 revealed details of the last conversation they had with their daughter.

The pair said Nicola had been in good spirits when they last spoke but now feared "has somebody got her?"

Ernest said mortgage advisor Nicola enjoyed her job and didn’t have any health problems.

He explained: "Her mind was great, we picked the children up the Thursday before she went missing, as we do every Thursday.

"We took them home, Nicola had had a meeting with her boss in Garstang and she said can you stay a bit later because I have an important client coming in on Zoom. We said 'no problem' and stayed.

"She had done her work and she was very upbeat about getting her mortgage sorted. I said we better go now and Nicola came to the front door, and I gave her a kiss and told her I loved her and that was the last conversation I had with her."

Nicola was last seen at 9:20am on Friday (January 27) walking her dog, Willow, on a footpath along the River Wyre after she dropped her two daughters off at school.

No clues have yet emerged, despite a major search using divers, sniffer dogs and a helicopter.
