BBC has just unearthed a new extended clip from “Doctor Who” season 11 premiere, titled “The Woman Who Fell to Earth”. The footage sees our first-ever female Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, meeting her future companions, at least two of them.

In the nearly 1-minute clip, Whittaker’s 13th incarnation of the Doctor is seen in the state of a post-regeneration haze, unsure of her identity and even her gender. She can be seen assessing a creepy situation aboard a train when police officer Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) calls her Madam.

“Why did you call me Madam?” she asks, to which Yasmin responds, “Because you’re a woman…?” It hits her as she says, “Am I? Does it suit me? Oh yeah! I remember. Sorry. Half an hour ago I was a white-haired Scotsman.”

When Yasmine asks her name, the Doctor admits that she doesn’t remember her name, though she knows her name. “I know it. I just can’t remember it. It’s right there on the tip of my.. what is it?” she asks while pointing at her tongue. “Smart boy” named Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole) then says, “Tongue?”

“[Are] you a doctor, Ryan?” Whittaker’s Doctor asks out of the blue. When Ryan says that he’s not a doctor, the former responds, “Shame. I’m looking for a doctor.” That’s when the clip ends.

“Doctor Who” season 11 will premiere on October 7 at 1.45 P.M. ET on BBC America. Fans will be able to watch the premiere at the New York Comic Con simultaneously. Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens will be among the panelists at the event which takes place at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater.

Of the new season, Sarah Barnett, President of BBC America, said in a statement, “We are thrilled to put together a remarkable moment around the world — for fans and new viewers alike — to celebrate this new era of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jodie Whittaker. Jodie is breaking the mold for pop culture heroes everywhere, and Chris has created an inclusive series for all fans of great television.”

“The Woman Who Fell to Earth” is set in a South Yorkshire city, where Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Wash) are about to have their lives changed. When a mysterious woman, unable to remember her own name, falls from the night sky, can they believe a word she says? And can she help solve the strange events taking place across the city?
