In an old episode of the ITV quiz show The Chase, Ramji, Eoin, Lucy and Gemma all took on Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace to win a life-changing sum of money. During Lucy’s round, she made a cheeky confession about Shaun, which left host Bradley Walsh shocked, doing a double-take.
As Lucy stood at the end of the table, she had a huge smile on her face as Shaun made his way to his chair.
“Hello Lucy, you make jewellery, do you? Good, you can give the cab firm a ring in a minute,” Shaun joked.
Lucy giggled at the joke and commented: “I really liked it! Sorry, I have a bit of a soft spot for you.”
Shocked at what she had just said, Bradley turned to her and exclaimed: “Really?!”
“Oh yeah, he is a legend!” she praised, to which Shaun swiftly thanked her for the kind words.
She managed to build £4,000 in her cash builder, with Shaun offering her £1,000 and £40,000, which she decided to take and risk her place in the Final Chase.
The risk didn’t pay off as she got both of her questions wrong and was caught within minutes of playing against Shaun.
She explained to Bradley she always wanted to go for the higher offer and didn’t regret her decision.
Ramji was up first and managed to get £3,000 in his cash builder round, which he seemed pretty impressed with.
When asked who he would like to face, he explained Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett would be fun to go up against. However, Shaun walked out and took his place in his seat.
He offered Ramji £300 as his lower offer and £28,000 for his higher offer, which Ramji discussed with his fellow team members.
They were all confident that he could win the £28,000 but told him to play it safe and make it back for the Final Chase.
Ramji decided to stick with the original £3,000 he had made during the cash builder and ultimately made it back to the panel, banking the money.
Eoin was second to take on Shaun and also built £3,000 in his cash builder, but Shaun decided to offer him £1,000 and £30,000.
The team again encouraged him to take the money he had built to ensure he made it back to the panel, which he decided to do.
However, unfortunately for Eoin, he was knocked out by Shaun after struggling to answer multiple questions correctly.
Gemma was the final contestant to face Shaun after building £8,000, he offered her a low amount of £2,000 and a high amount of £67,000.
Unfortunately for Gemma, she was caught on her final question and was eliminated from the competition, leaving Ramji the only contestant to take on Shaun.
Standing alone at the panel, he only managed to get eight steps in front of Shaun and knew he had little chance of winning.
Shaun had a rough round after he got five questions wrong giving Ramji a chance to push him back, but he was only successful once.
The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
