There was meant to be a total of 22 episodes in Riverdale season four, however, the creators were only able to film 19 before the worldwide lockdown. The new finale, called Killing Mr Honey, saw the Core Four imagine how they could get rid of their strict principal for good. The Netflix and The CW ended on a disturbing note though with a mystery left unsolved.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Riverdale.
Since the beginning of series four, the residents of Riverdale had a mysterious voyager on their hands.
Videotapes were being sent to all of the homes with hours of footage showing the outside of their houses.
The “death” of Jughead Jones (played by Cole Sprouse) distracted everyone for a while but in the second half of the series, attention turned back to these tapes.
The content of the tapes, however, grew even darker in the final few episodes.

While trying to find any clues on the footage, Jughead saw a clip of people reenacting someone wearing a Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) mask hitting him over the head with a rock.
Another tape showed Cheryl Blossom’s (Madelaine Petsch) brother Jason (Trevor Stines) being killed by their father Clifford (Barclay Hope).
The last tape had a group of people wearing masks of the majority of the Riverdale High teens killing a tied up fake Mr Honey (Kerr Smith).
Before the identity of the person or group responsible for the videos could be identified, season four came to an end, meaning fans will now have to wait until series five for more answers.
When will Riverdale season 5 be out?
The CW has already confirmed there will be a fifth season of Riverdale, to the excitement and relief of its fans with so many storylines left to delve into.
For the first three seasons of Riverdale, the teen drama has started airing new episodes in October.
So, it is more than likely this was the plan for Riverdale season five, that the series would begin in October this year.
However, this no longer will be the case with the current coronavirus pandemic affecting the television and film industry.
