SAWEETIE has fans concerned after messing up her script while presenting on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet.

The singer suffered a majorly awkward blunder during the live MTV VMAs pre-show that got fans on social media talking.

Saweetie, 30, presented alongside Dometi Pongo on the red carpet.

At one point, early on in the night, the Best Friend singer was seen posing in her bright pink dress, which featured two large bones.

She was playing with her long ponytail, pulling it off to one side while Dometi chatted with her.

"How you doing?" he asked, to which she casually replied, "I'm good, how you doing?"

The pair had a brief dialog before an awkwardly long pause as both stared directly into the camera.

Suddenly, Saweetie appeared to realize she was meant to be talking, jumping right back into the script.

"Oh," she exclaimed. "I am so excited for tonight too and I can't wait to see the fashion and some of my friends."

Another posted: "Why is Saweetie's energy not giving? Like, i so love her lewk but she seem slow."

"not saweetie forgetting that she’s there to work," wrote yet a third.

Someone else critiqued: "i say this as constructive criticism for mtv and viacom: these mtv hosts are uncomfortable to watch, saweetie should have been able to just vibe and not read off queue cards, the layout of the stage makes no sense on the livestream or in person. it is bad!! okay, you're welcome!"

"Saweetie must've got her check before the show the way she don't gaf," a fifth fan speculated.

BARE BONES

Saweetie's hosting skills weren't all that fans were talking about, however.

She arrived on the red carpet wearing a bubble gum pink dress with cutouts at both sides of her ribs.

Her unconventional look was designed by Area and appeared on the runway during Fashion Week 2023.

The dress was covered in bedazzled details but it was the two large pink bones sticking out of the dress that caught viewers' eyes.

There was one large bone at the collar of the dress and another at her hip.

At one point, Saweetie posed while licking one of the bones which had some online buzzing.

One viewer joked that she was "dressed like a spare rib."
