Netflix teases new season of Selling Sunset

Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald opened up on her miscarriage in the season seven premiere episode.

Original cast member Mary has been a staple in the Netflix reality show since its launch in 2019, with her relationship with Romain Bonnet heavily featured.

They legally tied the knot before the show started but did once again for Selling Sunset in season two and have talked a lot about starting a family.

Mary, who has teenage son Austin, excitedly announced in the season seven premiere that she was pregnant and couldn’t wait to tell her co-stars.

Unfortunately, in the same episode, it came out that Mary had miscarried, leaving her and husband Romain devastated.

Romain told Amanza Smith: “We were supposed to go to the ultrasound to hear the heartbeat”, with Mary adding: “We thought it’d be an exciting thing. She started doing the ultrasound and I’ve seen that look before.”

A vaginal exam was then performed but the baby’s heartbeat couldn’t be found.

“I already started getting that sinking feeling.

“I just feel numb right now. I go from crying to just numb.”

Mary was just 15 years old when she became pregnant with her first child and gave birth 26 years ago.

She recalled: “It was difficult being a teenage single mom.

“I made so many mistakes just trying to get by and not knowing what I was doing.”

Nevertheless, her friends at The Oppenheim Group were there to give their support for both her and Romain.

The couple tagged along to the office trip in Cabo, describing it as a “good distraction”.

Mary added: “It’s been a rough couple of days but I’m glad I came down here.

“It’s really nice to see my girls and they’re so supportive. I’m really glad to spend some time with them.”
