The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran has revealed that watching his late bandmate Tom Parker's courageous cancer fight inspired him to sign up for Dancing On Ice.
Singer Tom died in March last year at the age of 33, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour that was inoperable.
Siva is now strapping on his skates for the ITV ice-skating show and said that after what has happened he has decided to “do a lot of things that I’d never do and face my fears”.

“Obviously, this year has been eye opening for me with Tom and witnessing his courage, which was infectious to say the least,” he said.
“It reminded me that life was worth living and to take it all and to enjoy it.”
Siva, 34, said he has been making lots of decisions based on that, such as taking his driving test in Los Angeles and signing up to a songwriting degree course.
“In comparison, it’s just not as scary anymore, all my fears have shrunk,” said the star, who will be paired with pro Klabera Komini on the ice.
"I’m grateful for everything that comes at me and this is another thing that has come my way.
"Bring it, let’s have fun with it and put on those Spandex!"
Tom told his fans in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma.
The star, who had two young children with his wife Kelsey, documented his progress on social media as he went through treatment and made it clear that he was determined to beat the odds.
But in March, Kelsey announced that he had passed away surrounded by family members.
