Spencer Matthews has opened up on his time on Made In Chelsea, admitting he’s ‘embarrassed’ by his time on the show.
The reality star and businessman, now 34, found fame when he appeared on Made In Chelsea in 2011 and stayed on the show for ten seasons, before departing in 2015.
He was one of the original cast members of the series, alongside stars such as Louise Thompson, Millie Mackintosh and Ollie Locke.
However, despite the show catapulting him to fame, the star has admitted he doesn’t look back fondly on his time on the show.
In a new interview, Spencer admitted: "I absolutely hate that I'm even mentioned in the same breath as Made in Chelsea.”
He continued to The Times: “F***ing can't stand it. It's so embarrassing. I was a kid."
Speaking about his TV persona, he added: “I was young and ill-informed and a little bit stupid.”
The star became a notorious figure on the show, after his wild behaviour and relationship dramas became a focal point in the series.
Spencer previously opened up on how the show is "not real" after admitting his famous break-up scene with then-girlfriend Louise Thompson wasn't real as they had actually broken up the evening before.
"So I had actually broken up with Louise the night before and I told her about the next scene and she came in steaming hot breaking up with me instead and I was like 'this isn't real anymore!'" the star told Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast.
"At the time I was a heavy drinker and there was a change in the wind. Our relationship was very toxic at the time and it meant we had a huge screaming match that I really regret."
Spencer is currently preparing for the launch of his new documentary, Finding Michael, which sees him attempt to find the body of his brother, who died at the age of 22 after going missing during an expedition to Mount Everest in 1999.
The star attempts to retrace the steps of his older brother Michael on Mount Everest with the help of survivalist Bear Grylls and record-breaking mountaineer Nirmal “Nims” Purja in the documentary, which saw a ten person team search the mountain for clues on what happened to Spencer's beloved sibling.
In the trailer for the film, the former Made In Chelsea star is seen looking at a picture of his brother wearing a red ski jacket as he says: “I hate the picture. All I see is a young man in the process of losing his life.”
He adds: "Michael was my big brother. 20 odd years later we are sent this photograph of a body, it looks like it could be Michael. My heart says we should go and find him.
"And if we can, bring him home. We need the best people possible. We have one of the greatest, Nims Purja. We have to look all over the mountain.”
