Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was left with a massive decision to make at the end of tonight’s Emmerdale – either break up with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), or lose her son Aaron (Danny Miller) forever.
Aaron issued the ultimatum when he saw Chas and Al kissing, a sight which made him nauseated (we’re saying nothing).
He was angry both on Paddy (Dominic Brunt)’s behalf and because the man Chas was cheating with is Al Chapman, who is the closest thing the Dingles have to a sworn enemy after stunts including trying to blow up the Woolpack. ‘After everything that he’s done to this family and to you,’ Aaron pointed out.
Aaron had earlier shared some lovely moments with Paddy. As always, Paddy was concerned about taking care of his family and lightening the load for Chas. ‘But who lightens the load for you?’ Aaron asked him.
Paddy was pleased Aaron was back because he’d ‘Left a big Aaron-shaped hole in a lot of people’s lives. He said there were times when he knew Chas had been crying but she wouldn’t talk about what was bothering her. he asked Aaron what more he should be doing.
‘You’re a brilliant husband and an amazing dad,’ Aaron told him. ‘She doesn’t know how lucky she is.’
So he was understandably furious when he saw his mum kissing the reviled Al Chapman as Al tried to convince Chas that he still wanted to be with her despite having just accepted Kerry (Laura Norton)’s rap-based marriage proposal.
Aaron made his feelings absolutely clear to Chas: ‘You finish it and you tell him the truth or I’m gone,’ he warned. ‘It’s Al or it’s me.’
Will Chas finally end things with Al? She might hope she can talk him round once he’s calmer like she did with Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) – but it doesn’t look like Aaron will be backing down from his threat any time soon.
