Since she suffered a breakdown, Carla Connor (Alison King) has managed, with support, to get her life back on track and find herself in a steady position with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
But all of that is set to change when her past unexpectedly comes back to haunt her in a big way, leading to the reveal of a destructive secret that will turn her life into chaos once more.
Scott tells Carla that he worked with Johnny in the 70s and she discovers that he knew of her mum. A girl called Chelsey later comes into the Rovers and clocks Carla and quizzes Sean about her. As Carla nips to the loo, Chelsey follows her and tells her that she knows her – but who is she?
As Chelsey’s voice carries a threatening tone, what does she have on Carla – and is she here to destroy her or make amends with her?
Speaking about Carla’s story, show boss Iain MacLeod told Metro.co.uk: ‘It pertains to when she went missing during her mental health crisis. We wanted to visit that when she is back on an even keel psychologically. We saw glimpses – with the hotel – it was an interesting development to reveal something we didn’t know previously.
‘We meet two people we haven’t met before but who emerge from Carla’s story – and that leads to someone else on the street who we DO know revealing their true colours. Sorry that’s so cryptic!’
But how will Carla cope with this new turmoil – and can her relationship with Peter survive this?
